Made with love in Rio, London and Lyon.
Postersounds was ignited by curiosity and a sense of exploration. We asked ourselves, how could we represent music visually, with the same rigour as a music score, but in a way that is aesthetically appealing and accessible to all? In 2020, after accumulating a mountain of vector sketches and doodles on the back of napkins, we started working on the Brazilian music series with the aim to share it with the world.
Notating music for unpitched percussion instruments is a bit of a headache. There is so much ambiguity and conflicting information, that we had to seek help from orchestral percussionists, samba musicians and university professors to arrive at the version which was finally published in 2021.
Postersounds is a labour of love for music and design. Whether you are an enthusiast or a seasoned pro in either field, we hope that our posters can bring you closer to the music you love — while at the same time brightening your environment.
