Postersounds is a music and design project developed by Brazilian artists Diogo Cadaval and Rafael Gryner. The idea is to translate musical patterns into beautiful and insightful posters.
how does it work?
What you are looking at is a graphic score — a form of music notation. We take famous rhythmic patterns and write them using graphic symbols. The shape of the symbol indicates a particular sound and the colour indicates the instrument.
The layering of symbols brings our design closer to the experience of listening. In real life, notes, sounds and tones all mix together to make music — the same happens in our posters.
Alongside the stunning music visualisations, every poster comes with carefully researched historical information, playlists you can access via a QR code, and the music written in standard notation.
